ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION AND PREGNANCY DETERMINATION FOR CATTLE
Extension Animal Science at Texas A&M partners with Industry to offer training schools for artificial insemination and pregnancy determination in cattle.
Intensive 3 to 4 day schools offer both classroom instruction and hands-on training in live cattle. Topics covered include: anatomy and physiology of reproduction, cow and heifer management, nutrition, sire selection, genetic management, and estrous cycle management.
Registration fees are necessary to defray high expenses associated with
technical training.
Registration normally begins at 8:30 a.m. the first morning and concludes
with practical examinations in both AI and pregnancy determination on
the afternoon of the last day.
It is imperative that interested persons contact the clinic coordinator
one or two weeks in advance, since clinics not having a minimum number
of registrations may be canceled.
