Mike Mecke Program Specialist - Water Resources B.S. - Texas A & M University, 1963 Extension As Extension Water Specialist, I assist and work through County Extension Agents - both Agriculture and Family & Consumer Sciences, other Specialists, Experiment Station Researchers, colleagues at the Texas Water Resources Institute, surface and underground water districts, water utilities, irrigation districts, state water planning groups, watershed and riparian groups, schools, individuals and others in order to carry out educational programs through meetings, conferences, field tours, media releases and other resources. I am involved in appropriate research and demonstration projects regarding water conservation or water quality across West Texas. In cooperation with the Rio Grande Basin Initiative, I work with organizations, groups and individuals, at the Texas state and federal level; in bordering areas of Mexico, plus the neighboring watersheds or aquifers in the state of New Mexico.
