Range Management

The Texas Agricultural Extension Service Far West District 6 encompasses 23 Counties in extreme West Texas.

The majority of vegetation in the region is Chihuahuan Desert grassland, and shrubland. The district also extends into the Edwards Plateau and High Plains vegetational regions.

Far West District 6 is composed of 26 million acres of agricultural land. Of this acreage, over 25 million is considered rangelands.
